School Partnership Programme Lincolnshire

A bespoke wellbeing solution offering exclusive, affordable counselling and mental health support for both students and staff. Designed to deliver meaningful impact while remaining manageable within school budgets. This service is available to schools throughout Lincolnshire and surrounding areas.

Student Mental Health Support

This programme offers schools an exclusive opportunity to provide fully insured, clinically supervised counselling to all students for just £20 per session (typically paid for by parents), with a minimum additional £5 subsidy per session from the school. Therapy is available on-site, online, or at the Ivy Light premises in Lincoln, making support flexible and accessible.

School Funded Option

Schools may choose to fully or partially subsidise sessions. Funding can be drawn from the Pupil Premium or PSP budgets. Typical counselling packages last 6–8 weeks, supporting transparent financial planning and ensuring a time-bound funding commitment.

Standard counselling rate without the Partnership is £55 per session.

Budgeting Flexibility

Schools may set a per-term funding cap for subsidised sessions. Ivy Light works in collaboration with schools to monitor session uptake and adjust support levels as needed.

School Commitment

A minimum subsidy of £5 per session is required. Schools may increase their contribution to widen access or target support toward vulnerable pupils.

Marketing & PR

Partner schools may use Ivy Light branding to publicly promote their commitment to mental health and wellbeing. Positive PR campaigns will be collaboratively developed and shared by both the school and Ivy Light, reinforcing your school's values and visibility in the community.

Exclusivity

Each Partnership is exclusive to one comparable school per catchment area, ensuring a dedicated relationship and focused support tailored to your school community except in the case of Academy Trusts or Federations that wish to extend the programme to other schools within the same group. This ensures both focused delivery and the opportunity for scalable impact across school networks.

Additional Benefits

Partner schools also gain access to discounted rates on a range of high-impact services:
  • Bespoke wellbeing assessments.
  • Targeted therapeutic interventions.
  • Staff training workshops and packages.
All services are aligned with Ofsted and DfE priorities, providing schools with measurable impact data and evidence for inspection frameworks.

Investing in mental health is no longer optional, it's essential. Join Ivy Light in building resilient school communities where wellbeing drives academic success.

FAQ

We realise you may need more information about this service so we have included this section to help you make an informed decision. If you can't find everything you need please don't hesitate to contact us.
The reduced rate is made possible by the structure of the Ivy Light School Partnership Programme. Although schools will eventually have the opportunity to invest in the programme through an annual Partnership fee, this initial phase does not require any upfront financial commitment. Instead, early Partner schools benefit from subsidised sessions to help establish the programme and demonstrate its impact. As participation grows, this model will continue to evolve, but our core aim remains the same, making high-quality therapy more accessible for school communities.
Sessions are delivered by either fully qualified, practicing Therapists or Master's level therapy students who are clinically supervised and fully insured. All Therapists involved align with Ivy Light's ethos of 'Accessible Therapy For All'. This model not only ensures safe, professional support for clients, but also provides meaningful training opportunities for emerging professionals in the field.
No, schools are not expected to make referrals. Instead, once a Partnership is established, the school simply informs its community that students and staff now have access to discounted therapy through Ivy Light. Parents and staff can then access therapy directly, without requiring a referral process from the school. Of course, schools are welcome to discuss this option in relevant meetings such as PSPs, but formal referral is not necessary.
The £5 per session subsidy allows the school to demonstrate its commitment to student wellbeing by helping lower the cost of therapy. This small contribution makes therapy more accessible for families and helps support the sustainability of the programme. As there is no initial buy-in cost during this pilot phase, the subsidy enables the school to promote its role in supporting affordable mental health services, a valuable message for both internal and external stakeholders.
Absolutely. While Ivy Light is based in Lincoln, our school Partnership programme is designed to be fully accessible nationwide. Partner schools outside our local area can take full advantage of the same service offering through secure, online sessions, ensuring all students and staff can benefit from therapy regardless of location.
Sessions are delivered either in-person (where location allows) or online via secure Google Meet links. Each session lasts up to 50 minutes and is typically offered weekly. There's no fixed-length commitment, but therapy is most impactful when accessed regularly over several weeks. Clients will work directly with their Therapist to determine the most suitable duration.
We understand that school budgets are tight. That's why our model is designed to offer flexibility. The £5 per session subsidy can be covered through wellbeing budgets, pupil premium allocations, or external grant funding. We're happy to support schools in identifying funding options.
Yes, school staff are a vital part of the wellbeing community and they are fully eligible to access counselling at a specially discounted rate of £30 per session (compared to the standard £55 private rate). This includes teachers, support staff, admin teams, and leadership. Staff can self-refer in confidence, supporting their mental health without adding to the school's workload. All they need to do is make it clear they are from a Partnership school on their enquiry to access the reduced rate.
Not at all. While we'd love to be your school's main partner in wellbeing, the programme is designed to complement, rather than replace existing support structures. We welcome collaboration with other services and believe in working together to provide wraparound care for students and staff. It is important to note that a person can only see one therapist at a time ethically.
We can provide tailored materials such as posters, digital graphics, email text, and social media posts to help you promote the Partnership clearly and positively. This is a fantastic opportunity to show your school's proactive approach to wellbeing and demonstrate how you're making therapy more affordable and accessible for your community.
Safeguarding is a top priority. All Therapists (including Master's students) are fully insured, clinically supervised, and have enhanced DBS checks in place. Ivy Light follows a clear safeguarding policy and reporting procedure, and Therapists will follow the appropriate channels if any concern arises. Schools are also welcome to request a copy of our safeguarding and whistleblowing policy for their records.
Yes. Partner schools can also access discounted wellbeing workshops, assemblies, and staff training sessions through Ivy Light. These optional add-ons further embed a culture of mental health awareness and resilience in your setting. As the Partnership develops, we'll continue to look for meaningful ways to support your community beyond one-to-one therapy.
To ensure fairness and Therapist availability, we operate a 24 hour cancellation policy. Sessions cancelled with more than 24 hours notice can be rearranged. However, late cancellations or non-attendance will be charged in full. Clients receive email and text reminders to help avoid missed sessions, and clear instructions are provided during booking.
