Benefits Of Face To Face Counselling

Face to face therapy, often referred to as in-person counselling, offers several benefits for individuals seeking therapy.

However, it is important to note that this method of counselling may not always be accessible or feasible for everyone. Especially considering factors such as geographical limitations, physical disabilities, or personal preferences.

Please contact us if you're struggling to decide on the best therapy that would suit your unique requirements.

Personal Connection

Allows for direct personal interaction with the Therapist. Being in the same physical space can create a sense of intimacy, rapport and trust between the client and Therapist. This personal connection can facilitate a deeper level of understanding and therapeutic engagement.

Physical Environment

The therapeutic setting can be carefully designed and controlled to create a calm and conducive environment for counselling. This includes factors such as comfortable seating arrangements, lighting and ensuring privacy. The physical space itself can contribute to a sense of safety and trust. Our counselling space in Lincoln has been designed with all these things in mind.

Non-Verbal Cues

Enables both the client and Counsellor to observe and interpret non-verbal cues such as facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice. These cues can provide valuable insights into emotions, reactions and underlying meanings that may not always be fully communicated through text or video-based communication.

Immediate Support

The Therapist is physically present and able to offer immediate support during moments of distress or crisis. This can include providing a comforting presence, offering grounding techniques or engaging in techniques such as deep breathing exercises in real-time.

Tailored Therapeutic Techniques

Offers a range of therapeutic techniques that can be more effectively implemented. Techniques such as art therapy or experiential exercises may rely on the physical presence of the Therapist and client in the same space.
