"As an Integrative Therapist, I understand the importance of adapting my therapeutic style to meet you where you are. You won't need to conform to a one-size-fits-all approach, I believe in utilising several different approaches to therapy. Together, we will collaboratively identify the best planned approach that aligns with your goals.

I take pride in providing a calming, safe, and non-judgemental environment where you can explore any challenges or worries at your own pace. Whether you prefer a more directive or non-directive approach, I am here to guide you through your therapeutic journey based on your needs and preferences.

With extensive experience in working with adults, I have supported clients dealing with a wide range of issues. From processing and healing from historic abuse and trauma, navigating divorce and separation, and coping with grief and loss, to addressing unhealthy behaviours and exploring familial relationships, I am here to provide a supportive space for your personal growth. I have also worked extensively with individuals experiencing imposter syndrome, anxiety disorders, depression, low self-worth, and self-esteem challenges. Furthermore, I have provided talking therapy to many educational specialists, medical practitioners and emergency services personnel, understanding the unique pressures they face.

In addition, I have a wealth of experience working with young people. I have provided counselling to those dealing with issues including self-harm, low mood, anxiety disorders, body image concerns, changes in home life, and academic-related issues. I have a decade of experience within the education sector, having previously served as the lead Therapist in a Lincoln secondary school. This firsthand experience allows me to approach therapy with insight and empathy.

Having had negative experiences with counselling as a teenager, where I felt unheard and unable to be my authentic self, I am committed to ensuring that in my practice, the therapeutic journey is a collaboration that centres around you. Your preferences and needs will be consistently prioritised.

As the owner of Ivy Light and a qualified Integrative Counsellor & Therapist, I hold a Masters Degree in Counselling. I have completed extensive training in areas relating to Counselling and Psychotherapy, and continually engage in professional development to stay updated with the most relevant theories and practices in counselling and psychotherapy. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, adhering to a strict ethical framework."

"I am very proud to be a Therapist for Ivy Light because it's been created to provide a modern and relatable service, which places its clients at the heart of the process.

I have extensive experience working with young people, counselling young people with issues ranging from low mood and anxiety, self-harm (including addiction to self-harm), to body image concerns, social media affects, friendship issues, attachment styles, changes in home life, and academic/school related issues.

I have experience working with adults and providing therapy on issues ranging from anxiety, low self-esteem, some trauma and relationship issues.

As a teenager, I never had access to a counsellor, nor did I have much of an understanding about the process of counselling. I felt like I had to deal with all my problems alone and not talk to anyone. This was unhelpful, and I wish I had the chance to talk to someone about how I was feeling at the time, I felt unheard. Now, I believe it is important that no matter how you feel, you have the opportunity to talk to someone, because even the feeling of having someone listen to you can make all the difference.

I am committed to making sure the therapeutic journey is authentic and collaborative process for the individual, with your preferences at the centre of the journey."

My naturally kind, sensitive and calming demeanour are all integral aspects to my ability to form meaningful and trusting relationships with clients to enable them to feel comfortable sharing their experiences with me. I work both face-to-face and online with adults and young people aged 11-18 and have experience supporting clients through a wide range of issues impacting their mental health. "Are you struggling with your emotions following a change or loss? Do you feel stuck, lost or overwhelmed?

Therapy can help with a wide range of personal and emotional issues. Common themes in counselling sessions include work stress, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship breakdowns, and low self-esteem. It can be challenging to open up, even to those close to us, leading to feelings of isolation and worry. If you find yourself feeling this way, I offer a safe, supportive space where you can untangle your thoughts and feelings, free from judgment.

Building a compassionate and genuine therapeutic relationship with you is important to me. Therapy can help you develop awareness of your issues and foster greater self-acceptance. We can explore the impact of past events and examine your relationships, both with yourself and others. Together, we can understand how you arrived at this point and, if you choose, make changes to move forward in your life.

My journey into therapy began while working alongside families in special needs education and family support, which inspired me to retrain as a Therapist. I hold an MA in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy, and have spent four years counselling in schools, organisations and private practice in Lincoln. I understand the unique pressures and stresses that come with caring for a child with special needs and can support you through the emotional highs and lows of parenting, as well as navigating the school system and the special needs process. I am particularly passionate about supporting clients who receive a special needs diagnosis after leaving school. I can offer insights and strategies tailored to your individual needs.

As an accredited pregnancy and baby loss counsellor, I provide a compassionate space for you to express your feelings and emotions during a time that can feel incredibly isolating.

Additionally, I can help with various issues, including family relationships, relationship breakdowns, friendship challenges, bullying, family separation, blended families, chronic illness, sexual assault and abuse, low self-esteem, and childhood trauma."

"You carry within you the means to answer every question about yourself. About your past and how your perceptions of it exert an enduring influence. About your life now, how your recollection of childhood experiences and the choices of adulthood have shaped it and continue to shape it. About what fulfilment means for you and how you might reach it, be contented, be at peace, in your world and with your world. All the answers are there. All you need do is find them.

I can help. First, to assist in giving form to the questions you want to ask. Then, to interpret the answers you find, help you be at ease with the knowledge they give you, with the self, possibly the many selves, you will come to know. The journey may be difficult, occasionally uncomfortable, at times painful, but I'll be there. To guide, though not to lead. To support, though not to carry. And always with empathy and compassion, acceptance and respect. I can help you locate the wellsprings of strength and wisdom within you, help you draw upon them as you transform your life for the better.

It has been my privilege to have counselled an extensive client base in many places. By every metric - age, ethnicity, nationality, gender, neurodivergence, orientation, faith - the range is characterised by diversity. This has gifted me an empathic appreciation of the challenges people face.

I believe in the potential of counselling to address life's challenges. I am never shocked, though what I hear can be shocking. I never judge, though clients too often believe they deserve judgement. I never condemn, even when clients condemn themselves, convinced they are beyond help, beyond hope. They are not. No one is."

"Do you need someone to talk to, but you don't like the idea of being in an enclosed space for your therapy sessions? Maybe you want to connect, perhaps more deeply, with nature, the environment, or the wisdom of the seasons during your therapy sessions. Perhaps you feel more comfortable being side-by-side with your therapist rather than sitting face to face in a room, which doesn't suit everyone.

I discovered Walk and Talk Therapy when I was initially training as a Counsellor, and I later undertook further training in Walk and Talk Therapy and Ecotherapy. I have worked as a Counsellor for over seven years and I am passionate about outdoor therapy and the benefits it can provide, especially for those who have experienced trauma. Research also shows that being in nature can reduce stress, depression and anxiety and it can help us access our inner world more deeply.

In my work as an Integrative Therapist, I draw on person centred, humanistic, Gestalt, Psychosynthesis and Transpersonal counselling techniques. I work one to one with adults and I can help with issues including: anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, loss, grief, stress, relationship breakdowns, separation, divorce, infidelity, recovery from narcissistic abuse, childhood trauma that's effecting your life now, as well life's challenges and changes. I also work with people who have had or been touched by near-death experiences (NDEs), particularly those caused by cardiac arrests, heart attacks, strokes, illness, health emergencies and medical interventions.

Whatever has brought you to me, I aim to provide a welcoming, caring, confidential and non-judgmental space where you can freely and openly express and explore your thoughts, feelings, and life experiences with someone who is on your side.

In addition to Walk and Talk Therapy, I am able to offer online therapy and supervision for Trainee Counsellors, Qualified Counsellors and other professionals, including mental health first aiders which can take place in your workplace."

"I truly value the life-changing potential of therapy. Using a relational approach customised to your individual pace and needs, I strive to create a nurturing, judgment-free environment. A refuge where you can explore, understand yourself and foster growth.

Your experiences have shaped your one-of-a-kind outlook on life. My aim is to provide a space where you feel comfortable sharing your story, whether it revolves around relationships, anxiety, depression, isolation, grief or past trauma.

Even if you find it hard to pinpoint exactly what feels 'off' or recognise recurring patterns, we can work through these uncertainties together. Therapy calls for presence, commitment, courage, and openness. In return, it offers liberation, deeper self-awareness, release from shame, and more fulfilling connections with yourself and others. Everyone deserves support from time to time.

In our work together, we'll tackle the challenges that brought you to therapy, giving you an opportunity to pause, gain insight, and begin moving toward meaningful and lasting change."
